Trinity Newsletter - December 2021
We have ten youth and three adults registered for the Youth Gathering. We will be adding three youth and on adult to our registration during December. That means we will have at least 17 Gathering participants. Still looking for a few more youth to go. The Lutheran Church Missouri Synod Youth Gathering is scheduled for July 9-13, 2022, in Houston, Texas. The Gathering theme is “in all things” from Colossians 1:15-20. Youth that are in grades eight through twelve during the coming school year are eligible to attend. The link to the Youth Gathering site is: https://youtu.be/U6PBGkiMigw.
The Youth will continue to provide a continental breakfast following 8:30 service every Sunday.
We will be operating a concession stand during the 11 December Drive-In Movie night. We will be selling hot dogs, popcorn, pizza, chips, candy, nachos, and drinks.
We will resume our monthly yard sale in January.
We have raised almost $10,000 to date. Sincere thanks for your love, prayers, and support.
The Youth are meeting Saturday, 4 December, at Pinspiration in Pooler for two hours of crafts and splatter room fun. We will be there from 10 am until noon.
We are also having a lock-in Saturday, 11 December, starting at 4 pm. We run the Drive-In Movie concession stand, play games, have a Bible study, and perhaps get some sleep. The lock-in will end Sunday morning at 8 am.
We continue to have Middle School and Senior Youth Meetings on the second and fourth Sundays of the month. The Middle School meetings are 11 am to 12:30 pm. The Senior High meetings start at 12:30 pm and end at 2 pm. The youth have a light snack, provided by parents, at 12:30 each meeting. After eating we have Bible study and then games. Average participation has been eight youth.
The Middle School Youth and Senior Youth have continued to meet weekly by Zoom. The Middle School Youth and Senior Youth meeting has been moved to Tuesdays at 7:15 pm. There is prayer and a short Bible study and then fellowship and games. Mostly we spend time together, laugh together, study together, pray together, and together work our way through this challenging time. Average meeting participation has been four youth.
The Young Adult Singles Group Zoom meetings are at 7:30 pm on Wednesdays. The meetings last an hour and include prayer, Bible Study, and games. We play Minecraft.
Sincere thanks to the congregation, council, and elders for their continued support of the Youth.
Sincere thanks to the parents for all their love and support. The past few months were very busy with car washes and yard sales and breakfasts, and the parents have been very active working with the youth.
Let’s Go!
